The George Cleeve Association, formed in 1982, was a society based in Portland, Me., and was dedicated to honoring the memory of George Cleeve and his descendants. Cleeve, celebrated as Portland's original founder, first came to Spurwink, Me., from England in 1630 and later relocated to Portland in 1633.
